About Digital Maritime Week
Digital Maritime Week brought together the global maritime community for five days of live industry content, curated by familiar brands from across Informa Markets Maritime. Each session during Digital Maritime Week, led by leading maritime experts, examined the impact of the coronavrius pandemic on key shipping markets and discussed recovery strategies.
Objective
The concept for a Digital Maritime Week arose as a result of the Pandemic. We tried to figure out how to connect with our audience while live events across the world were being cancelled one by one. Our focus switched to digital, but how do you reach out to a demographic that isn’t familiar with the medium? Live events were ideal for our audience since they allowed us to meet people face to face and assist individuals who didn’t grasp technology. The task of creating an immersive, user-friendly experience was assigned to me. I realised I wanted to create something unique and eye-catching, so I made sure each piece of work was created with the audience in mind.
Design
I concentrated on the images, striving for something that had a digital vibe but wasn’t focused on it. I wanted it to be evident that this event is taking place online, so I made sure that the branding was consistent and that the colour palette was appealing. I realised we wouldn’t be the only ones in our industry focusing on digital content delivery. Our competitors will do the same thing. Because blue is the natural option in the maritime sector, something I am usually asked to adhere too. This meant I had to come up with creative methods to make our material stand out. As a result, the colour scheme was chosen. Introducing the bright red for CTAs and minor but vital messages.
