About SMME & SMME Virtual
Seatrade Maritime Middle East, which was founded in 2008, has become the industry’s meeting place for maritime experts in the Middle East. The three-day event includes a diverse trade show, informative conference programmes, and plenty of opportunity for strategic networking.
Objective
Create a fully immersive event branding for Seatrade Maritime Middle East & Seatrade Maritime Middle Virtual.
Design
SMME’s branding was completed in 2019 in preparation for the 2020 live show; however, the pandemic struck, and I was entrusted with producing a virtual experience. SMME Virtual was formed after drawing up a few logos with various titles (SMME Digital, SMME – Online, etc.). The design was adapted for an online audience, taking the opportunity to go bright and bold.
In 2021, I designed a hybrid experience that could be customised for both a live and online audience. The colour palette and images remained the same, but I was asked to refresh the creatives so that the virtual and hybrid events could be distinguished.
